You can imagine our astonishment – dubbed “the world’s weirdest mastermind”, a community of entrepreneurs known as The Mavericks contacted STA and wanted to come for a visit. Each year, they choose one non-profit in the world for an “Impact Day”. Their intentions? Experience STA and offer some mastermind entrepreneur advice for our organization.
We are guessing they chose us because of our weird factor, though there is no consensus on our “weirdest in the world”. What do you think? It may also be a shared love for living embodied lives of adventure and creativity. Or our commitment to go for a neighborhood campus of education on the west side of Detroit.
Fifty Mavericks got off a bus and entered into an abandoned school in the Brightmoor neighborhood. A sobering start to adventure, symbolic of the collapse of the industrial revolution seen in Detroit. Yet from there, whooshed into the beauty and genius of the Brightmoor neighborhood. Our friends across the neighborhood opened up spaces and places for us to share the magic of creativity in challenging circumstances, while we whooshed the Mavericks on a superhero adventure.
Their mastermind advice for us? Make more adventures like this for the corporate world! They loved their experience – feeling more connected and alive with each other. See video below.
Extra Special Thanks to our Special Ops Squads behind the scenes and in the adventure!
Captain Fantastic, Storming Sunflower, Curious Fox, Stardust, Perspectone, SkyDancer StarFox, Running Water, LuminEssence, Hops, Synergyzer, the Edge, Laughing Moon and Hummingbird Crow.
